This weekend's Polar Brrr Nothing but Doubles Tournament has over 250 people signed up. With temperatures expected to be in the 70's, there should be some great tennis. To see all the draws, click here.

juan/swords might have a tough match vs. a couple of 4.5 players (andy/charlie). Should be good tennis to watch.
That's right. First, Andy and Charlie will have to get by a couple of virtually unknown, former court sweepers, big-hitting, cinderella story, young upstarts from out of nowhere.
That should be a great match as well! Should air on ESPN 8, "The Ocho", on tape delay later that evening.
I'm no blog bookie, but I see Andy/Charlie beating AT/Gilmer 62,62 at least. Swords/Juan will have a tough time with them but should win 64,64. Garza/Jory then take those guys out in a two tight sets.
What's with Josh Rollins playing 4.0 mxd? He's got a winning record at Open, played for Colorado State a few years ago, and is the head pro over at Great Hills CC.
Juan/Swords are playing Swanson/Johnson at 10:00. Giving everybody at least a gurantee of 3 match play. Pink balls ive been told was very difficult to see on the blue court. Difficulty on depth when the ball is out in front of you, almost like looking at a 3d movie thats if you can pick up the ball fast enough. Jory/Rick are also playing at 10:00
CATA needs to ditch the pink tennis balls. Strange that they would do this in a sanctioned tournament. Great for a charity tournament...maybe. Should at least give the players the option to use yellow balls. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
players should have a choice considering that most of all of them don't practice with pink balls. But this is for a good cause so we all should do what is for the good.
the good cause is the cash the CATA is providing to Komen for research (a portion of the entry fee goes to cancer research). using pink tennis balls does not do much to further the cause. like the previous poster mentioned - let the players decide. if all agree to use pink go for it, if not use the regular balls. cata could have done a better job with this.
To 1/20 10:36am Anon: I would say Josh is closer to a 5.0 than a 4.0. He had a hard time turning it on/off though and couldn't overcome his 2.5'ish partner.

I did not see that they play first round.

He got smoked by Torch, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Josh is a good 4.0, but that is about it.
I see rick/jory winning 2 and 5 over juany/johnny.
Hope they are playing during the day. Played tonight under foggy lights with pink tennis balls. Tough to follow the ball.
So much for good tennis between Andy/Charlie and Juan/Swords.

Pink balls, blue courts, all we need now is black lights...
